The tray underneath the pot fills with water to a pre-determined level, and the capillary action of the pot and substrate ensures that plant roots receive the moisture, nutrients, and oxygen they need for optimal growth.

In a gravity fed hydroponic system, the nutrient solution is stored in a reservoir located above the plants. The solution is then fed to the plants via gravity, using a series of tubes or channels that connect the reservoir to the plant containers. As the nutrient solution flows downward through the system, it provides the plants with the necessary nutrients and water for growth.
