BioBizz Alg-A-Mic is a cold-pressed Seaweed extract. There are many things that make up a good organic seaweed extract to use in a hydroponic environment. Firstly, the type of seaweed is crucially important. Secondly, the way in which it is extracted is critical to the quality of the end product. Thirdly, consistency between batches of extract needs to be entirely on point so you, the grower, get the same high-quality product, every time.

The species of Seaweed used is Asco phylum Nodosum. This is an extremely fast-growing strain of seaweed that contains a much richer range of micronutrients, vitamins, amino acids and hormones than almost any other species. Typically, it is sustainably harvested in the North Atlantic Ocean, just around the emerald isle: Ireland.

Once it is harvested, it then needs to be processed for use. There are a few ways to do this, but the most common is either cold pressing or extraction using chemical solvents. Cold pressing is almost literally what it sounds like. The seaweed is simply pressed until the juices are squeezed out nice and naturally. All you get from the product is the goodness in the seaweed. Chemical solvent extraction may be more efficient for the manufacturer in terms of yield but is not as suitable for growing organically, as it residual waste from the extraction process.

This extraction process, and then how it is then processed for bottling and storage needs to be strictly monitored and batch controlled, to ensure that you get a consistently homogenous product every time you purchase.
